| ■The organizers expect approximately 60,000 local and 7,000 international
trade visitors to attend the event. Trade delegations from the USA, Europe
and Southeast Asia have been announced. Additionally, huge international
media attendance is expected. ■The shows attraction for international visitors is driven by the fact that(1) most of its exhibitors are exporters with large amounts of their products destined for overseas markets.(2) after eleven editions it is being regarded as one of the best venues for sourcing high quality and reasonably priced furniture from China.(3) it is an efficient market place for overseas manufacturers seeking domestic joint-venture or OEM partners, or to meet buyers of finished and semi-finished products. ■The organizers of Furniture China provide their assistance to the visitors concerning accommodation, visa arrangements and show pre-registration at: http://www.cmpsinoexpo.com/furniture For additional information: Shanghai CMP Sinoexpo Int'l Exhibition Co., Ltd Mr. Kerley Zhang Kerleyzhang@cmpsinoexpo.com Tel: +86 21 6437 1178-295 Fax:+86 21 643702982 ■In 2004, the growth rate of Chinaユ GDP was around 9%, a little higher than the GDP of 2003. Throughout the previous 3 years, Chinaユ average growth rate reached 8.2%, a giant leap compared to other countries. The average annual increasing rate for foreign trade volume is around 35%, the number of projects under construction is over 70,000, and the total asset investment will surpass hundreds of billion RMB, displaying Chinaユ restless development. The 2 main events, the Olympics 2008 and World Expo 2010 are opening Chinaユ market for boundless investments and consumption, which is not to be taken exclusive for the furniture branch but covering various markets. ■Figures from the customユ statistics display that the total export volume for furniture reaches 3.13 billion USD in the first quarter of 2005, increasing by 34.26% compared to last yearユ volume, while the average national furniture output growth rate is 20.7%. This illustrates that export is the driving factor for the industryユ speedy development. ■There has been a series of changes in the manufacturing and logistics in the domestic furniture industry throughout recent years. Guangdong province, as a neighbor to Hong Kong, traditionally plays an important role and lists No.1 in international trade. Meanwhile the Yangze River Delta including Shanghai, has undergone rapid development in recent years and nowadays spurs the growth of the furniture industry in the North Eastern, Northern and Eastern regions as well. ■Integrated hubs for production, promotion and logistics of furniture industry like Lecong near Guangdong, South China, Likou near Shanghai, East China, and Xianghe near Beijing, North China, have been set up to leverage production and export. Amongst these three manufacturing regions, the eastern provinces around Shanghai have proven the most dynamic one. ■The following table displays that the growth rate of export from East China is much higher than South Chinaユ: in recent years, the average growth in Yangze Delta in East China was 10-20 percent higher than the one of Pearl River Delta in South China. |

■This is why Shanghai is considered as the most important emerging trade hub for furniture, being surrounded by furniture manufacturing bases in Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shandong Provinces, combined with its excellent Import & Export infrastructure. With this background, Furniture China 2005 has witnessed an amazing growth with exhibitors from East China representing 60% of the total space and also 60% of the total number of exhibtors. Still, Furniture China 2005 has identified its position as a platform for furniture exports for all parts of China and increasingly from Southeast Asian regions. This is why a further strong expansion of the show is already now predicted for 2006. (2005/6/29) |
