MIFF 2009 Get Set for the Best of World Furniture |

![]() The 15th Edition of the Malaysian International Furniture Fair 2009 (MIFF 2009) will be held from 3-7 March 2009 at two venues simultaneously namely the MATRADE Exhibition and Convention Centre (MECC) and the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC), occupying more than 80,000 sq meters in exhibition space. MIFF 2009 is a one stop platform for industry players to showcase the best of furniture not only from Malaysia but from all over the world. For the convenience of the Buyers, Guests and Visitors to MIFF, there will be non-stop shuttle services provided FOC by the organiser between these 2 venues. MECC will be solely dedicated to the exhibition of sofa and household furnitures while PWTC will be for the promotion of office and household furniture as well as for the first time ever, furniture accessories. The response for furniture accessories has been overwhelming with Mezzanine Area of Hall 1, PWTC almost fully occupied by exhibitors promoting accessories. We are very confident, come March 3rd, all the exhibition space for accessories will be fully occupied.
Close to 500 exhibitors from 12 countries will be showcasing their products during MIFF 2009. Out of this number, more than 70 exhibitors will be participating for the first time in MIFF. This is testimonial that MIFF is the Premier Furniture Trade Exhibition in Asia and the place to be for serious furniture industry players. Currently, MIFF 2009 has participation from Vietnam, United States, Turkey, Thailand, Taiwan, Singapore, Korea, Indonesia, Japan, Hong Kong, China and Malaysia with possible participation from a number of other countries like India, Germany, United Kingdom, just to name a few.
gLast year, the show recorded a total of USD 690 million in sales, breaking 2007fs record of USD 667 million. A total of 7,410 foreign visitors visited MIFF during the five day period beating 2007fs record of 7,266 international visitors,h Dato Tan Chin Huat, Chairman of MIFF Sdn Bhd, the organiser of MIFF 2009 was quoted as saying in his welcome address to the more than 200 VIPs, invited guests & media at the MIFF 2009 Pre-Exhibition Symposium held in Putra World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur. MIFF 2009 is targeted to achieve a sales figure of over USD 700 million despite the economic slowdown as the furniture industry is confident of maintaining the growth with products that are innovative, of the highest quality and value-for-money. There are always opportunities and new markets to export to. Close to 8,000 buyers from over 150 countries are expected to visit MIFF 2009 over the 5 days. Total number of visitors is expected to surpass 20,000 for MIFF 2009.
