Bangkok International Gift and Bangkok International Houseware Fair 2007 (BIG+BIH 2007) will be organized for the 24th time on 16-21 October 2007 by Department of Export Promotion, Ministry of Commerce, Thailand.

BIG+BIH are globally known for being among the best fairs for the gift and home decorative industries. They consistently gained increasing recognition as the venue where designers and manufacturers in Thailand and other Asian countries reveal their latest collections, making them must-visit event for international buyers who seek uniqueness and quality.

BIG+BIH will start off with trade-exclusive days from 16 to 19 October, before opening to public on 20 and 21 October. The focus of this year’s event is on the use of attractive local materials, designs that are both aesthetic and practical, and the combination of modern production technology and delicacy of traditional workmanship. A vastly diverse variety of high quality products are offered at best deals. The showcase includes gifts, decorative items, household products, artificial flowers and plants, home textiles, handicrafts, toys and games, stationery, and more to fill Christmas stockings.

The recent BIG+BIH won praises for product quality and variety, as well as supporting activities offered by the Department of Export Promotion, for instance, the “Trade Mart Tour” which enables visitors to combine business with pleasure while experiencing the heart of leading commercial areas in traditional ambience.

Other prominent activities which will be repeated in October are design focused exhibitions and showcases, including the Design Hall & BIH Showcase where unique products reflecting design and market trends will be on display “Design in Thailand” the presentation of exquisite works by Thai designers from design and decorative development projects, and Talent Thai exhibitions where you will find stylish products from up and coming designers.

To ensure successful business cooperation, Department of Export Promotion have assigned officials to assist buyers in any trading matters, including business matching service which allows buyers to meet directly with leading suppliers at allocated area where business facilities and equipments are provided.

Thailand is one of the easiest countries to do business with, according to The World Banks Ease of Doing Business Survey 2007. Thailand is ranked at the 18th easiest place to do business, from 175 rankings. The high ranking means the regulatory environment is conducive to the operation of business.
