The Cebu International Furniture and Furnishings Exhibition (Cebu X) is the perfect venue for furniture and furnishings manufacturers whether small, medium or large to penetrate the global market and the best venue where international buyers and Filipino exhibitors converge. Cebu X is definitely the ideal design destination of Asia.

Tagged as the most cost-effective tool for Filipino manufacturers to showcase their products to international buyers, it has always been the aim of the organizers to provide open opportunities to as many exhibitors as possible.

The 108exhibiting companies gave it their all, showcasing their recent designs adhering to international trends occupying almost 10,500 sq.m. of exhibition space. It showed a wide array of products from the following categories: Classical Impression, Homelifestyle Accessories and the Philippine Modern Contemporary.

For this year Cebu X also staged the 2nd year of the Design Hot Spot featuring Twelve(12) outstanding companies who have carved their niche in the Philippine furniture and furnishings industry with their avant-garde and unique designs.

The four-day run of Cebu X 20oe generated US$ 20.4 Million sales with the Middle East still with the largest purchase accounting for 260/0 of the total sales. North America and Asia came in 2"d and 3'd place at 230/0 and 170/0 respectively. Europe ranked 4th at 16010. Africa and South America followed with 80/0 and 50/0 respectively.

In terms of country performance, the US, which is the Philippine's largest export market for furniture still registered the highest booking at 1 8010. Saudi Arabia consistently follows the US accumulating almost 120/0 of the total sales. Ranking in third is the Philippines and United Arab Emirates (UAE) both having contributed 6010. At 5th is Egypt while Spain ranks 6th in the pack.

Buyers' count this year is 1562, representing 61 countries and 628 companies. Wholesalers make up 330/0 of the total number of buyers. Buying agents came in 2"d at 180/0 and retailers 4th at 20010. Designers and architects comprise 10010, followed by manufactures at 9010. Most of the buyers this year are decision makers and key officers of their company's hierarchy (top management; 68010).

In buyer attendance, the US still tops at 12.2010, followed albeit not closely by China / Hong Kong at 3.2010. Saudi Arabia ranking 3'd follows closely at 2.9010, Australia taking 4th place with 2.8%, Italy 5th at 2.2% Spain at 6th place with 2.1%. Singapore France Indonesia and Taiwan followed closely taking the 7th , 8th and 9th place contributing 2.0%, I .7% and 1.6% respectively. UAE takes the 10th spot with 1.5%.

Excitement of the Cebu X is slowly receding as the show has concluded, though the exhibitors' share of the anticipation is still at its ultimate high as participants hope for a year that would rival that of last years. The emergence of new and more serious buyers is an indicator of a positive year for the furniture and furnishings export industry. For the exhibitors and the buyers alike, this years show is "one of the best".

itself to taking the Cebu furniture industry at the level of global competitiveness. It is the primary support organization of the Philippine furniture export industry in the last 30 years. 178 members from furniture and furnishings manufacturing and exporting firms, and subcontractors compose the CFIF membership.
